Job Summary

In light of the company's recent acquisition, we are now looking to recruit a Production Assembly Manager. This full-time permanent role will be based out of our offices in Grays, West Thurrock, and will report to the Commercial Operations Director.

Responsible for organising the safe and efficient receipt, storage and despatch of warehoused goods by effectively managing the staff, processes and systems whilst ensuring that targets are met.

To coordinate the continuous improvement programme within the operation and maintaining and improving workplace health and safety standards.

Generate and analyze Production KPI’s. Manage and assist with the physical movement and mechanical handling of products. Responsible for ensuring excellence in service and product and that customers receive their products within the required lead time through effective team management and distribution planning.

The ideal candidate will have experience in technical after-sales & customer service

Responsibilities:

·         Manage the workload of the warehouse team to ensure customer service excellence

·         Oversee the storage, picking and component assembly aspects of outbound orders

·         Check incoming and outgoing glass for quality and accuracy of manufacture.

·         Use space and mechanical handling equipment efficiently and support the Warehouse Operatives with these functions.

·         Respond to and deal with Transport enquiries

·         Keep stock control systems up to date ensuring required stock is maintained whilst also ensuring Warehouse Operatives complete stock control sheets

·         Maintaining standards of health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment

·         Complete 3rd party transport documentation.

·         Assist the warehouse team with unloading and loading vehicles.

·         Coordinate shipping/transport (worldwide) for all goods imported and delivered.

·         Use a fork lift where necessary in accordance with training.

Management and Other Duties:

·         Motivate, organising and encouraging teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded

·         Ensure proactive development of staff through continuous performance management and the appraisal process

·         Manage informal and formal people management activities such as conduct, absence and performance concerns

·         Create a harmonious work environment through training, development and participation with teams on process development to ensure an efficient and effective operation.

  • To provide effective guidance and act as a role model for staff.

  • Champion and implement continuous improvement plans within the logistics environment

·         To work as a part of a team undertaking necessary duties as and when required.

·         Perform other ad hoc duties as and when required

Education and experience required

·         3 years’ experience in a similar role.

·         Full clean driving license

·         Competent computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Excel

·         Experience working within Warehousing, Distribution or Production Assembly

·         Fork Lift Licence
