A block of text about The Shower Lab's sustainability pledge - Refine, Reduce and Repurpose

Our biodiversity garden.

The wonderful effects of our biodiversity garden have now become visible.

We spotted some bees circling and pollinating our collection of plants, which is fantastic to see and we hope to see more wildlife among our garden.

Why are bees so important?

Bees are important to our ecosystem.

They support growth of trees and flowers and provide food and shelter for creatures large and small.

Repurposing Wooden Crates

As a means to reduce waste, we have recently repurposed previously disposed of wooden crates into new shelving in our warehouse.

Sustainable Relaxation at HQ

Our outdoor seating arrangement repurposes the pallets our deliveries are brought on, reducing our waste.

Refine Our Processes

EXAMPLES OF THE SHOWER LAB’S ACTIVITIES

- Reduced printing paper from 80gsm to 70gsm to refine our impact on waste production & road haulage.

- Switched 3 fleet vehicles to fully electric.

- Introduced sustainable, biodegradable bioplastic PLA jigs for installation from a supplier who plants one tree for every purchase.

Reduce Our Waste

EXAMPLES OF THE SHOWER LAB’S ACTIVITIES

- Removed plastic bag liners in Head Office since Summer 2021

- Reduced commercial waste by 50% by reducing the number of bins required from 6 to 3.

- Refocusing attention on a ‘repair’ mentality rather than a ‘replace’ for items that need fixing.

Repurpose Our Refuse

EXAMPLES OF THE SHOWER LAB’S ACTIVITIES

- Using our shredded paper and mixing this into soil for our biodiversity project, in which we used our repurposed wooden crates for planting bamboo and lavender for attracting wildlife and absorbing CO2.

- Repurposed used wooden pallets for outdoor seating & a table for our employees.
